Ingredients

Fish -1kg (cubed)

Coconut Milk-of 1 coconut

Shallots(small onion)-3

Water-2cup

Ginger-Small Piece

Green Chillies-2(slits)

Chilly Powder- 3 1/2tsp(can increase or decrease according to u)

Turmeric Powder-3/4 tsp

Fish Tamarind (kudampuli)- 3to4 pieces(according to ur taste)

Salt -to taste

Curry Leaves-2 strings

Seasoning

Coconut oil -1 tsp

Small onions-4 sliced

Method


Wash and soak kudampuli in 1/4 cup of warm water and keep aside..

Crush ginger and small onion together.

Take a kadai ..Pour the coconut milk(make coconut milk by adding 2 cup of water ) into the kadai and add chilly powder,turmeric powder,ginger-small onion mix ,salt, curry leaves,and kudampuli.Mix well

Then add fish ..Place the kadai in the stove  and allow to boil ..

The main thing u have to notice is  in the beginning ,I mean when it start boiling u must stir occasionally( for not curdling the coconut milk)

Then allow the fish to cook till the gravy becomes thick …When the curry is 3/4 th done  add  green chilly slits  and curry leaves..

Let the gravy become neither too thick nor too thin (a semi medium gravy).Taste the gravy and if u need any changes add according to ur taste ..I mean tamarind  ,salt,chilly etc ..

Then heat a pan and add 1tsp of coconut oil ,add a sliced small onion and saute till it become light brown ..add this to the curry ..Ur tasty fish curry is ready ….!!

Another Style

For the beginners I am going to suggest the same fish curry recipe in another style. At first u take a blender and add the grated coconut and add some water and blend ..Then squeeze the coconut and take milk from it .keep aside

 Then take a kadai and add the cleaned fish pieces and add all the ingredients (chilly powder,turmeric powder,ginger-small onion mix,curry leaves,green chillies ,puli&salt) along with water and mix well.

The pieces should be dipped in the water .. Then close the kadai with a lid and allow to cook ..

After 15 minutes open the lid and cook in a low flame..Cook till most of the water get evaporate. Now in the kadai u can see the fish pieces to be in dark red colour ,marinated with the masala and little water in it ..

Now add the the coconut milk and mix with the pieces and allow to boil ..Stir occasionally..Boil till the gravy become semi medium thick..In between taste the curry and add spices or salt if necessary..

Now the curry is ready..U can season with small onion …

Tip:If u want the fish curry not to be that spicy u can add half portion of kashmiri chilli powder ..

നാളികേരപാൽ ചേർത്ത തൃശ്ശൂർ മീൻ കറി

ആവശ്യം ഉള്ള സാധനങ്ങൾ

മീൻ -1/2 കിലോ
നാളികേരം -1
ചെറിയ ഉള്ളി-4
ഇഞ്ചി -ചെറിയ കഷ്ണം
കുടം പുളി-2 ചെറിയ കഷ്ണം
കറി വേപ്പില -2 തണ്ട്
പച്ച മുളക്-3-4
മുളക് പൊടി- 1 1/2 ടേബിൾ സ്പൂണ്‍
കാശ്മീരി മുളക് പൊടി-1/2 ടേബിൾ സ്പൂണ്‍
മഞ്ഞൾ പൊടി -1/4 ടി സ്പൂണ്‍
ഉപ്പു-ആവശ്യത്തിനു
വെള്ളം -2-3 കപ്പ്‌
വെളിച്ചെണ്ണ -1 ടേബിൾ സ്പൂണ്‍

തളിക്കാൻ

വെളിച്ചെണ്ണ -1 ടേബിൾ സ്പൂണ്‍
ചെറിയ ഉള്ളി-3
കറിവേപ്പില -1 തണ്ട്

തയ്യാറാക്കുന്ന വിധം

ആദ്യം മീൻ നന്നായി ഉപ്പും വിനെഗരും ഉപയോഗിച്ച് കഴുകി വൃത്തിയാക്കുക ..
ഇടത്തരം കഷ്ണം ആക്കി മുറിക്കുക ..
നാളികേരപാൽ എടുക്കുക (ആവശ്യത്തിനു വെള്ളം ചേർത്ത് മിക്സി യിൽ അടിച്ചു പിഴിഞ്ഞ് എടുക്കുക,നമ്മൾ ഒരു പാലെ എടുക്കുന്നുള്ളൂ (അല്ലാതെ ഒന്നാം പാൽ ,രണ്ടാം പാൽ അങിനെ വേണ്ട ))

ഒരു മീൻ ചട്ടിയിൽ ഈ പാൽ ചേർത്ത് അതിലേക്കു മുളക് പൊടി ,മഞ്ഞൾ പൊടി ,ഇഞ്ചി -ചെറിയ ഉള്ളി ചതച്ചത്‌ ,ഉപ്പു ,വെളിച്ചെണ്ണ ,വെള്ളം ,കുടം പുളി (പുളി നന്നായി കഴുകി എടുക്കുക ) എന്നിവ ചേർത്ത് നന്നായി യോജിപ്പിക്കുക

ഇനി അതിലേക്കു വൃത്തിയാക്കി വച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന മീൻ കഷണഗൽ ചേർത്ത് കൊടുക്കുക ..
മീഡിയം തീയിൽ വേവിക്കുക ..
ഇടക്ക് ഇടക്ക് കലം ഒന്ന് ചുറ്റി കൊടുക്കുക..
കൈയിൽ ഇടാത്തത് നല്ലത് ..
നാളികേര പാല് പിരിഞ്ഞു പോകും എന്ന പേടി വേണ്ട .. ഒന്നും പറ്റില്ല smile emoticon
ചാർ കുറുകി വരുന്ന സമയം പച്ച മുളക് കീറിയതും കറി വേപ്പില യും ചേര്ക്കുക .. ഏകദേശം 15 മിനിറ്റ് കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ
രുചി നോക്കി ഉപ്പും പുളിയും കൂടുതൽ വേണേൽ ചേര്ക്കാം ..
10 മിനിറ്റ് കൂടി വേവിച്ച ശേഷം (ഈ സമയം എണ്ണ തെളിഞ്ഞു വരുന്നതായി കാണാം ) ചെറിയ ഉള്ളി യും കറി വേപ്പിലയും താളിച്ച്‌ ചേര്ക്കുക ..
അൽപ സമയം അടച്ചു വെക്കുക .
കുറെ കഴിഞ്ഞു ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നതാണ് നല്ലത് ..അപ്പോളേക്കും ഉപ്പും മുളകും പുളിയും ഒക്കെ മീനിൽ നന്നായി പിടിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടാകും … പിറ്റേ ദിവസം ആണേൽ പിന്നെ ഒന്നും പറയണ്ട wink emoticon
അങിനെ സ്വാദ് ഏറിയ മീൻ കറി റെഡി ..

നോട്ട് : മുളക് എരു അനുസരിച്ചും പിന്നെ ഓരോരുത്തരുടെ ഇഷ്ടം അനുസരിച്ചും കൂടിയും കുറച്ചും ഇടാം .. അത് പോലെ തന്നെ പുളിയും ..

  23. In this fishcurry we don’t add tomato ..Its my grandmothers recipe ..thakkali ittal kuzhappam onnum undakilla ,kirachu taste diff varum pinne charu kurukum ..
