This is my first trial of making  buns .. I happened to had masala bun in a japanese Joint and we all loved it .. So wanted to try that for very long ..I made the masala in my own way ,they were bit different ..So dears this is a very very easy recipe ,and i am sure ur kids will definitely like it …. The process is easy but bit time consuming ,otherwise super duper recipe 🙂
For the filling
Ingredients
Potato -2 medium (peeled and cut)
Green peas -handful(frozen)
Big onion -1 big
ginger-garlic paste -1tbsp
Tomato-1/2
Coriander leaves-2tbsp chopped
Turmeric Powder-1/4tsp
Green chilli-1chopped
Chilli powder-1 tsp
Coriander powder-1 1/2tbsp
Garam masala -1tsp
Salt-to taste
Oil-2tbsp
Method
Heat oil and add finely chopped onion ,ginger -garlic paste ,chopped green chilli along with some salt ..
Saute till onion become light golden shade..
Now add all  powders one by one and state until the raw smell goes
Then add chopped tomato and cook well till the oil oozes out ..
Finally add medium chopped potato pieces  and frozen green peas and mix well.
Stir occasionally for 5 minutes b4 closing ..
Now close the pan and cook for 10 minutes and then add hot water and cook until done ..
Now open the kadai and add coriander leaves … give a taste test…
Add salt if needed ..Now roast this masala until dry …
Keep aside and let it cool..
For the Bun
Ingredients
Al Purpose Flour-225gms
Active yeast-1 1/4tsp
Butter-1tsp
Sugar–2 tsp
Salt-5gms
Water-120ml(1/2cup)
Method
Pre heat ur oven for 10 minutes at 200degree Celsius ..
In a big bowl pour water and add sugar ,salt and mix ..
Then add yeast and mix well and wait for 5 minutes ..
Then add flour in small amounts and mix well ..
Knead for 5 to 10 minutes until u get a soft dough ..
Cover the bowl with a wet musline cloth and leave it in a dry warm place for about 5 minutes ..
After 5 minutes take out the dough add butter to it ..
Knead  for 2 to 3 minutes and again allow to rest for 30 minutes ..
Then take out the dough and make them into 8 equal parts ..(u can do this  in a clean kitchen countertop ,dust with some flour b4 placing the dough )..
Make each ball into round shape..
Now take each ball as we do for making aloo paratha ,stuff the dough with 1 Â 1/2 tbsp of filling and close carefully ..(filling should not be hot )
Do same with rest of the balls and place them in the baking tray (i placed aluminium foil in the tray ,if u have spray u can use that )
Again rest these balls rest for 20 Â minutes ..(always cover with the wet cloth )
Now brush each with water (if u want u can brush with butter or egg )
Now bake for 15 minutes at 200 degree Celsius …
Each oven differs so bake till u see golden colour on the top..
Then remove from the oven and brush with butter on top to get shiny glaze …
At first u feel the bun to be hard but don’t worry after 5 minutes it will become soft …
So dears y waiting … try this yummy bun at ur home and surprise  ur dear ones
Note :
If u want u can make bun bit more sweeter ,,
u can make ur own choice of  masala
last week i made bread masala ,i mean fill the bread with this kind of masala ,make to ball  and fry in the oil..
that is very crunchy snack …tasty too ..
If u want plain bun follow the same recipe except the filling …
If u want u can add spices of ur choice while mixing the  flour ..
