Ingredients
Koorka-1 1/2cup
Red chilly -5(according to ur taste) or red chilli flakes-1 1/2 tsp
Small Onion-15
Salt-to taste
Coconut Oil-2tbsp
Curryleaves-2string
Water-
Method
Wash koorka properly and remove the mud from it ..
Then peel the skin using a peeler or knife.
After cleaning, wash them again and cut into small pieces..
Pressure cook koorka by adding salt and enough water to cover the pieces..
Or u can cook in a covered vessel ..Don`t over cook it..
Now take small onion and dry red chilly(red chilli flakes)
Crush them well ..
I used a wooden mortar and pestle to crush them .
..In a pan heat 1 1/2 tbsp of oil and add the crushed chilly -onion mix …Add curry leaves also..
Now saute them well until it become brown in colour..(The imp thing is that raw smell of chilly must go.)
In between add turmeric powder..
Then add the cooked koorkka into it and mix slowly and saute …
Saute them in another 10 to 15 minute in low flame ..
Remove from the fire and add 1tsp of coconut oil and some curry leaves and close the pan for 2 minutes..
Now transfer to a serving bowl .
Easy and tasty koorka mezhukku is ready to serve..
