Ingredients

Atta/Wheat flour-2 1/2 cups

Plain flour-2tbsp

Water-1 cup and 2 tbsp (sometimes it may vary )

Oil-1tbsp

Sugar-1tsp

Oil-to deep dry

Salt-to taste

Rava(sooji)-1tbsp

Method

Mix the wheat flour with salt ,rava,sugar,plain flour..

In another big bowl pour water and add oil and mix well ..

To this add wheat rava maida mix  in small small quantities and make a soft dough..

Close the  dough in a tight container and keep aside for 10-20 mins.

Then divide the dough into small small portions and shape into balls..

With the help of a poori press ,press each ball

Heat oil in a deep pan and fry on both sides till light brown ..Drain the oil in a kitchen tissue..Serve hot with bhaji..

Ingredients

Potato-4(medium)

Ginger-1tsp(chopped)

Green chilly-3 (chopped)depending up on the hotness of chilli

Big onion -sliced 2(lengthwise)

Mustard Seeds-1/4tsp

Cashew nuts-5(opt)

Turmeric Powder-1/4tsp

Curry leaves-few

Oil-1tsp

Dry red chilly-1(chopped)

Urad Dal(uzhunnuparippu)-1/4tsp

Coriander leaves-chopped 1tsp

Salt-to taste

Method

Peel the potato ..Wash properly ,and cut into medium size cubes ..

Boil 3 to 4 cups of water and add this potato pieces and salt and  cook ..

U can cook in pressure cooker too..

Take a kadai and splutter the mastard seeds ,urad dal  and then add dry red chilly ,  and curry leaves..

After that add onion ,ginger and green chilly and saute well…Saute till the onion become transparent and tender ..

Then add turmeric powder ..Add water and allow to boil ..

After that add the cooked potato and stir .. . in between check the salt and add if u need..

Let curry to get cooked for another 10 minutes in low flame .. Add boiled water if needed ..

Some people like the bhaji to be thick and some others in loose consistency ..So add water according to that

Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves..

  1. Chechiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii..tried ur poori baaji..came out superb!!!.. i didnt use the plain four part and added rava a little more… 🙂 it came out excellent 🙂

    its optional only ..For a crunchy feeling only… u can add cashew and roast while sautéing onion ..
