I got this recipe from Lakshmi nair`s book..At first when i saw the ingredients i thought it wont come good..But when i made that it was so nice d different ..And very very easy to do .. So u also try this….

 

Ingredients

Cooked white rice -1cupBig onion-1/2 (finely chopped)

Green chilly-2(chopped)

Ginger-small piece(chopped)

Pepper powder-1/4tsp

Grated carrot-1/2cup

Egg-1

Bread crumbs -8Tbsp

Cheese- 2Tbsp

Cashewnuts-5(chopped)

Salt-to taste

Tomato Sauce-1tsb

Butter-1tsp

Tomato slices-8

Bun -4

Onion slices- 8

Oil

 

Method

Mix all the ingredients (onion,green chilly ,pepper,egg,ginger,bread crumbs,tomato sauce,carrot,cheese,cashewnuts,rice,salt) and mash them well.Now divide into 7 balls.Then flatten the balls with your palm in form of cutlets..Then heat oil in a kadai..Then shallow fry the burger from both sides till they look brown in color.Then drain in paper towels..

Then apply butter & little ketchup to the inner sides of the buns. Keep 1 lettuce leaf, 1 tomato slice, burger,one cucumber slice, 1 onion slice, 1 carrot slice in between two slices of a bun. Prepare all the buns in the same manner.
Then fix this with tooth pick..Repeat the same procedures for the rest of the burgers..

 

Serve hot

    this looks like a more healthy burger recipe since the main ingredient is rice instead of the commonly used potatoes.
    I will surely try this one. Makes a good chilren’s meal too.
