Method

First clean and wash green pepper, curry leaves and coriander leaves. Then make a fine paste of it by adding enough water(that is green paste) .Keep that aside.

Wash the chicken pieces properly.Drain them and make 2-3 gashes on each side.

Then we need to marinate the chicken using 1/4tsp of turmeric powder,1tbsp of ginger-garlic paste ,lemon juice ,salt and 2 tsp of green paste .keep this marinated  chicken for minimum 1 hour .

Now heat a non stick pan and add 1tbsp of coconut oil,to this add 1tsp of finely chopped ginger ,1 tsp of finely chopped garlic and 1 tsp of green chilly .

Saute for few seconds ,now add curryleaves and thinly sliced small onions and salt.

Stir fry until the onions becomes light brown in colour.

Then to this add turmeric powder,1/4tsp of fennel powder and 1/4tsp of garam masala .Stir for 2 minutes in low flame .

Now add 2tbsp of green masala and stir well for 3 minutes .

Now add some water and boil.

Lower the flame and add thick coconut milk.

So masala part is ready .Remove from the stove and keep aside.

Now grill the chicken

Take a non stick pan and heat  2 tbsp of oil and shallow fry the chicken pieces (5 minutes in each side)

When done keep this fried chicken to a kitchen tissue ..

Now its time to wrap the chicken ..

Take a plantain leaf…Soften the leaves by putting over the flame for a second ,so that the leaf wont break while wrapping. If u don’t have banana leaves u can use foil paper.

Now take   some masala and place in the centre of the leaf or foil paper(here i used foil paper)  ,then place 2 fried chicken pieces  on top this masala and again spread some masala onto the top of the chicken .

Then wrap the leaf tightly.

Now grill (pollikkuka)the chicken by putting wrapped chicken in a pan and cover with a lid..

So the tasty chicken pollichathu is ready to serve ..
