Chicken -1/2 kg medium sized pieces(in the original recipe they use only the chicken legs)
Minced Ginger-1 1/2tbsp
Minced Garlic-1 1/2 tbsp
Spring onion-1 tbsp( for garnish)
Tomato Ketchup-2 tbsp
Red food colour-pinch (opt)
Red wine-1tbsp (opt)
Salt- to taste
Capsicum-1/2 for garnish
Corn syrup 0r cornflour-1tsp
Oil- for frying
For the batter
All purpose flour-2tbsp
Wash the chicken pieces and marinate with corn flour,maida,salt ,pepper powder and little water ..
Keep aside for 1 hour ..
Heat 1tbsp of oil in a pan ..
Add ginger and garlic and saute for few seconds ..Add onion and celery to this and saute well..
Saute until the raw smell leaves..Now reduce the heat ,add red chilly paste ,tomato ketchup and soya sauce ..
Saute for few seconds ..Then add sugar ,salt,red wine and vinegar …
Mix well ..Then add water and boil well.. Check the sauce ..Add sauces according if anything lacking ..
Keep this sauce aside and deep fry the chicken pieces ..
Add the fried chicken to the sauce and cook well for 5 minutes in medium flame ..
Then add corn syrup or corn flour mix(add 1tsp of cornflour in 1/4 water and mix) little by little until u get the correct consistency
Cook till the chicken pieces are well coated with the sauce ..
U can add or decrease the spice ..
Finally garnish with spring onion and capsicum .. 🙂
