Ingredients

Idli-6-7 medium size

Ginger-1tsp(minced)

Garlic-1 tbsp (minced)

Green chilli-3 (slits)

Dry red chilly-2 (slits)

Capsicum -1/2 of 1 medium (cubes)

Big onion-3tbsp (finely chopped)

Big onion -1(cubes)

Spring onion-1tbsp (minced)

Spring onion-for garnishing

Celery-1/2 tsp minced

Soya sauce-2tbsp

Chilli paste-1tbsp

Vinegar-1/1 tsp

Sugar-1 tsp

Tomato ketchup-5tbsp

Cornflour -1tsp

Sesame oil-1 tbsp

vegetable Oil-for shallow frying

Salt-

Water-2 cup

Method

Cut each idli into cubes ..8 pieces from 1 idli..

Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry idli pieces till light golden colour.

Transfer the fried idli into a kitchen tissue ..keep aside

Heat sesame oil ,then add dry red chilly,saute for a second

Then add ginger garlic and green chilly..

Saute till the raw smell goes

Now add minced big onion and saute ..

After 2 minutes add minced spring onion and celery ..Saute

Then add chilli paste ,soya sauce ,salt,sugar,vinegar and tomato ketchup..

To this add hot water and allow to boil..Check the sauce ..

Add if anything requires ..salt ,sugar ,sauce etc..Then add cubed onion and capsicum..we are adding this in the last moment to get a crunchy flavour of onion and capsicum..

Otherwise they will be overcooked ..

Then add fried idli and mix well slowly and reduce the heat ..

Let it cook for 5 minutes in the sauce ,so that idli pieces can absorb the sauce ..

If u want u can add  2 tbsp of corn flour mix(mix cornflour in 1/4 cup water ) to get  a shining look…

So transfer the dish and garnish with spring onion ..
