Ingredients
Chickpeas -1 1/4 cup
Tomato-2 1/2 medium
Onion-2 medium
Ginger-medium piece
Garlic-4-5 cloves
Cumin seeds-1/2tsp
Kasurimethi leaves-3/4tsp
Garam masala-1tsp
Coriander Powder-1tbsp
Chilli Powder-1tsp
Turmeric Powder-1/4tsp
Salt-to taste
Black Salt-1/4tsp
Dry red chilli-1
Cloves-3
Cardamom -2
Vegetable Oil-1tbsp (opt)
Water-4-5 cups
Coriander leaves –
Lemon Juice-1tbsp
Method
Wash and soak chick peas overnight or minimum 5 hours..
Drain them and keep aside ..
In a blender add onion cubes,tomato cubes,ginger,garlic ,cumin seeds,kasuri methi,all powders ,salts along with some water and make a very fine paste..
Add this paste to the chick peas along with dry red chilli(pieces) ,cloves and cardamom and oil …
Add water and mix well and cook in medium flame … 6-7 whistle or till done ..
When the pressure settles down open the cooker and check whether its well cooked or not ..
Then check the salt and add if needed ..
Now cook this chole in medium heat till the oil separates ..
Finally add lemon juice and sprinkle some coriander leaves …
Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped onion and coriander leaves .
Serve with roti ,rice etc…
So how is this simple recipe ..Anyone can cook this with out sauting ,spending time in the kitchen for long ..
